HELLSIGN
"HellSign is an investigative action RPG that pits you against the horrors of the afterlife, let loose on a small town. As a hunter, you’ll plan, hunt, and kill to pay the bills and get revenge on the monster that butchered your family. Just remember - a smart hunter is always prepared."
For HellSign, I acted remotely as the marketing coordinator on behalf of the developer, Ballistic Interactive, on an internship/contract basis between April 2017 and September 2018, when a marketing agency took up the title in the lead up to release. In this role, my duties were primarily to manage our branding across social media including daily posts, experimenting with aspects of social media such as post timing, language, and content to improve engagement, and to research new ways of reaching out to potential players. In addition, I performed research and case studies (here's an example) to advise the developers on public relations, including formulating press releases for changes to the game's name, release, delay and other information provided to the public. This role gave me hands on experience with professionals in the game development industry, and while I didn’t have direct contact with the development process itself, I worked in close contact with the developers and following their processes for over a year. This experience has given me valuable insight into the world of independent game development.
